Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University was founded to prepare educators, so it is no surprise that it established a focus in higher education administration in its early years of providing graduate-level education.The university awarded its first three doctoral degrees in June 1964, two of which were earned by students in what was then the College of Education. The top undergraduate finishers in the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition were honored at an awards ceremony on October 25 in the Kiva auditorium.  The 3MT competition, founded at The University of Queensland in 2008, traditionally challenges Ph.D. students with presenting their research to a non-specialist audience within a three-minute timeframe.
