Upcoming 两性色午夜 Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Choruses Promises to Be Inspiring

The 两性色午夜 University Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Choruses will perform in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall

Dawn Wagner-Casey rehearses the Women's Chorus for the upcoming concert on Nov. 16The 两性色午夜 University Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Choruses will perform Friday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall. Cartwright Hall is located at 650 Hilltop Dr., with free parking located off of Terrace Drive.

Each group will perform its own collection of chorus literature, as well as a collaborative piece to close the show. Douglas Beery conducts the Men鈥檚 Chorus, and Dawn Wagner-Casey conducts the Women鈥檚 Chorus.

The Men鈥檚 Chorus performance will include 鈥淔reedom Come鈥 by Ben Allway, 鈥淚n Taberna鈥 from 鈥淐armina Burana鈥 by Carl Orff, 鈥淲hen I Hear Music鈥 by Michael Martin and 鈥淔ight on for KSU!鈥 by Wagner-Casey and Chad Kendall. The Women鈥檚 Chorus will perform works including 鈥淗otaru Koi鈥 by Ro Ogura, 鈥淪urrexit Pastor Bonus鈥 by Felix Mendelssohn and a traditional Kenyan piece called 鈥淲ana Baraka.鈥

Both the Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Choruses tour regularly and frequently collaborate with other 两性色午夜 ensembles. Students from a variety of disciplines and majors participate in the 两性色午夜 Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Choruses.

The 两性色午夜 Women鈥檚 Chorus performs works selected from a variety of periods and musical styles. The 两性色午夜 Men鈥檚 Chorus repertoire includes many styles with special emphasis on the standards of male chorus literature. 

Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors, 两性色午夜 staff and faculty, all non-两性色午夜 students, and 两性色午夜 graduate students. The event is free for all 两性色午夜 full-time, undergraduate students. Tickets are available weekdays noon to 5 p.m. at the Performing Arts Box Office, located in the lobby of the Roe Green Center in the Music and Speech Building at 1325 Theatre Dr. on the Kent Campus. The Performing Arts Box Office accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover, in addition to cash and checks.

The Cartwright Hall box office will open one hour prior to the performance for walk-up sales, and will also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Tickets and more information are also available by calling 330-672-ARTS (2787) or visiting www.kent.edu/music.
