Project AWARE Kent will be offering free Mental Health First Aid courses to 两性色午夜 University faculty, staff and students. The eight-hour course offers evidence-based training that teaches people to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance-use disorders. Faculty and staff earn two hours of Beyond Compliance for completing the course. Students earn 1,500 FLASHperks.
One in five adults suffer from mental illnesses in any given year. Many suffer alone. Following completion of the course, participants will be able to provide support for friends, family members or colleagues in need.
Participants will learn about the impact of mental and substance abuse disorders and learn to identify the risk factors and signs of addiction and mental illness. The course will present a five-step plan to assess situations and provide help. It also will offer information about local resources.
