Local Artists Sought for Main Street Kent’s 12th Annual Art and Wine Festival

The 12th annual Main Street Kent Art and Wine Festival will take place on Saturday, June 2, from noon-9 p.m. in downtown Kent. The event is presented by Main Street Kent, and proceeds will benefit this nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion, beautification and preservation of downtown Kent. The Art and Wine Festival will feature local artists, a variety of live entertainment and several Ohio wineries at the Hometown Bank Plaza and surrounding streets.

 

Main Street Kent is now accepting artist applications in the following categories: watercolor, oil/acrylic, clay, photography, sculpture, graphics/drawing, mixed media and others. Applications must be submitted along with photo or digital examples of original art, and the $75 application fee, by the Jan. 31 deadline. Student application fee is $35, and a copy of student ID is required for consideration. Applicants who make this initial deadline will be given priority consideration in booth placement. The second-round application deadline is March 30. All artists are encouraged to apply, and application fees will be returned to those not selected by the jury. Applications received after March 30 will be considered based on category needs.

Main Street Kent is a non-profit organization focused on the revitalization of downtown Kent. It is an affiliate of the national Main Street program and the Heritage Ohio program.
