The 两性色午夜 University Women鈥檚 Center in the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will celebrate its 20th anniversary during the 2016-17 school year. The Women鈥檚 Center, formerly called the Women鈥檚 Resource Center, was established in 1996 following a recommendation from a university stakeholder committee to former 两性色午夜 President Carol A. Cartwright. The center was established with a specific purpose: to contribute to a climate at 两性色午夜 University that is responsive to and supportive of women鈥檚 needs. In 2010, the name of the center was changed from the Women鈥檚 Resource Center to the 两性色午夜 Women鈥檚 Center, as the scope of the center expanded.
Many events have been planned to celebrate and share the rich history of the Women鈥檚 Center, including:
- One Billion Rising on Feb. 15
- We Go Red: Women鈥檚 Heart Health Luncheon (co-hosted with the Division of Human Resources) on Feb. 18
- The seventh annual Mothers, Mentors and Muses event on March 8 (The honored keynote speaker is 两性色午夜 President Emerita Carol A. Cartwright).
- Women鈥檚 History Month Living Library on March 15
- The Vagina Monologues on April 15-16
