The Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University Alumni Association invites faculty and staff to nominate deserving alumni for the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University Alumni Awards. Sponsored by the alumni association, the alumni awards recognize graduates in the area of leadership, service, character and professional development.
Nominations will be accepted through Dec. 31!
One student award – the Golden Flash award – will be given to a student who promotes Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University spirit, pride and tradition.
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University will close its golf course at the end of the 2016 fall season. For 50 years, the university has been pleased to provide this service to the community, which is no longer a viable option. As the Northeast Ohio golf industry continues to experience financial challenges, the university determined that the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Golf Course could not reverse a five-year trend of declining revenues and mounting operating losses.
Online final grading for Fall 2016 Full Term (POT 1), Third 5 Weeks (F3), Second Half Semester (H2), Second 7 Weeks (W2) begins Friday, Dec. 9, via FlashFAST. Grading also is now available for any fall 2016 course section that was flexibly scheduled. The deadline for grading submission is midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Any final grades for fall 2016 courses not reported in FlashFAST by the grades processing deadline will have to be submitted using the Grade Change Workflow.
The last e-Inside issue for the 2016 Fall Semester will be published Dec. 12. Copy submissions for that issue should be emailed to einside@kent.edu by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6. e-Inside will resume production on Jan. 16.

The Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
