Kent East Liverpool’s Student Government Reaches Goal for Burns Memorial Scholarship

Students Raise Funds for Burns Scholarship

East Liverpool – Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ at East Liverpool’s Student Government Organization presented a check for $1,000 to the university’s foundation to help fund a memorial scholarship honoring the late Dr. Roxanne Burns.

Burns was a longtime biology professor on the East Liverpool Campus who died last fall. She helped organize several activities on campus, including the annual Environmental Justice Conference held during Earth Week each year, and was active with numerous student organizations.

The Council of Student Organizations (CoSO) held several fundraisers in recent months to reach its goal. The check was presented this week during a Students First picnic, held to celebrate the inauguration of Dr. Beverly Warren, the university’s 12th president.
